From the Owner of JDX

       Hello, thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I've lived in the Valparaiso area all my life. From the age of 15,  I started working in new home construction. A new subdivision was being built across the street from where I lived and I was gutsy enough to approach the contractor about a job. He hired me and the learning curve for building homes began.  Over the years, working on everything from laying the foundation to nailing the last roof cap shingle on the ridge, performing repairs and remodeling, have caused me to adapt the motto, "Anything worth doing, is worth doing it right". I still carry this with me in my business today.

         For me personally, when trying to find a home, there are certain things I know to look for on the build quality and safety, along with the proper functionality of furnaces, wells, central air units, water heaters, ect..  Not everyone has that knowledge though and some are left holding the bag of an unfortunate error that will take a little time to recover from. My desire is that everyone knows what they are purchasing before they purchase it. Before you sign on the dotted line for a place you're interested in buying, give me a call here at JDX, because any home worth inspecting, is worth inspecting it right! 

        Many people have asked me over the years about my business name, "JDX", asking where it came from? The "J" is my first name, James. The "D" is the name of the man who encouraged me to start my own Home Inspection Company. His name was Dean. He told me, "You know what you're doing, why not give it a try". I took the certification course, passed my state licensing exam and I was ready to go. It was merely a few days after receiving my license that he passed away unexpectedly. So in honor of him, his initial is in the company title. The "X" stands for both of us multiplied.
